Quebec police investigate homicide after man’s body is found in Rimouski apartment

Quebec provincial police are investigating the homicide of a 35-year-old man in Rimouski, in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region.

Sureté du Québec (SQ) officers responded to a 911 call Friday afternoon regarding a seriously injured man found inside an apartment on Pierre d’Anjou Street.

The SQ says first responders attempted to resuscitate the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators and technicians analyzed the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the event.

The SQ says that a second police operation that took place on Friday night on Avenue des Goélands in Pointe-au-Père (about eight kilometers away) is linked to the homicide.

No arrests have yet been made and the investigation is ongoing.
