Thugs throw stones at Jewish school bus and shout ‘fuck Israel’ in alleged hate crime in north London

A 12 year old boy told him the jewish chronicle: “I was sitting at the front of the bus and everyone was completely terrified and hiding under our seats. It was really scary.

“They had big, heavy stones. There is a park nearby and the rocks may have been removed from there.

“They also insulted us and said: ‘Fuck Israel, no one likes you.’ Fuck off, bitches!

“They were filming us as if they were enjoying it. There were many people in the street and no one tried to stop them. “I hope something like that doesn’t happen again because it scared me.”

An 11-year-old girl added that four teenagers boarded the bus and began cursing before getting off and throwing rocks.

She said: “None of us knew what to do. Some people got off the bus to maybe run away, but it was far from my stop so I stayed on the bus. They insulted us and filmed us. “We don’t know what they are going to do with that video or why they did what they did.”

JFS, the name of the school as it is commonly abbreviated, is well known in the Brent community and has been in operation since 1732.

He Community Safety Trusta charity that helps the Jewish community in Britain, has said it is supporting the families.

Dave Rich, from the trust, added: “This stop is close to another school and there have been problems before with children from this other school.

“We support JFS and talk to the other school to see if they can work it out. All schools have a police deputy officer and we are also talking to them and have suggested that they enhance the police presence at the bus stop to ensure that there are no more problems.

“It must have been terrifying for the children. “We hope the police can make sure this all calms down.”

Siwan Hayward, TfL’s Director of Compliance, Policing, Operations and Security, said: “We are deeply concerned by these reports. No one should be afraid or abused when using our network.

“We take a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of hate crime and work with the police to pursue anyone who abuses our customers or staff. Together with the Uno bus operator, we supported the police in their investigation and provided footage from the CCTV cameras that all buses are equipped with.

“We encourage anyone who experienced or witnessed this incident to contact police.”

Superintendent Lorraine Busby-McVey, in charge of neighborhood policing in Barnet, said: “This was a distressing incident for those on the bus and the behavior of those responsible is completely unacceptable.

“There is no place for hate crime here or in the rest of London and a thorough investigation is underway.”
