Jude Law terrified of ‘disappointing’ Star Wars fans after theories about Skeleton Crew characters

Law plays a mysterious “Force user” named Jod Na Nawood, although many have speculated that his character may turn out to be someone we already know in Star Wars canon.

Speaking exclusively with RadioTimes.comLaw said: “It will keep you guessing. It’s multi-faceted and has many things to many people, it has many names.”

He added: “There’s always pressure when there’s a lot of discussion, because you always think, ‘Well, I hope they’re not disappointed!’

“He’s a survivor, and this keeps you guessing until the end. There’s still a long way to go.”

As a Star Wars fan, the fan reaction is clearly very prominent in his mind, and he tells us, “I hope they (the fans) like him as a character.

“There’s a lot! He’s a complicated person, so there’s a lot to know about him. The pressures are high and the fans take this very seriously. I’m very aware that they take this very seriously and can be quite divided.

“There are different sects within the larger audience of Star Wars fans. So I just hope they accept it and enjoy it.”

It may surprise fans to find out that Skeleton Crew is the first time Law has been approached for a Star Wars project, with the actor explaining: “I grew up with this. It was a big part of my childhood.

“But I felt very lucky to be approached with this one in particular. I love that using kids as protagonists tied it in some way to the joy, the innocence that we all felt when we first saw it as kids. I just think which is a stroke of genius on the part of Jon and Chris.

“They wrote this wonderful part with all these possibilities. So I’m glad they didn’t contact me until now.”

The first two episodes of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will now premiere on Tuesday, December 3 at 2am GMT. Sign up to Disney Plus from £4.99 a month.
